Kevin Lin was born in Taiwan in 1965. He studied architecture in college and had had no training in acting or film before he was picked to play a secondary role in The Noblest Way to Die (1992), for which he was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor at the Golden Horse Awards. His other films include No Regrets for My Youth (1993) and The Story of Yunan (1993).
